Does any one know any thing about a PanAmerican clarinet? I just bought one at a rummage sale for three dollars that has been recorked and padded.

This was Conn's bottom of the line student grade clarinet. Nice big sound but intonation is a problem.

My first clarinet was a Pan American. The price you paid is about right.

I have three metal pan american's (different models.) I repadded the one that looked very very similar to Conn's pro model and was very disappointed with the results. Oddly, it barely plays if I use any of my favorite mouthpieces. I went through 25 vintage mouthpieces and found a couple that get it to sound ....ok.

Use it to practice, especially if you like to practice in the shower.
