 John Moses

Hi everyone,

I don't know why, but I've been thinking about John Moses for a few days now. I began to wonder...is he still around? Is he still playing?

While doing an Internet search, I found out that he, indeed, is alive and well.

One thing that caught my eye was that John did a commercial ad for Legere. In the past, John always came across to me as a very humble person and if you click on the ad below (for which I received permission to post), you will see exactly what I mean.

John used to post on this BB. I sure do miss him.

Per Linkedin, John recently retired.

Dan,

I have known John through a series of email exchanges we have had particularly about trading equipment. The details of what we swapped is long forgotten but I still use some of the stuff.

John was and probably still is a booking agent for Broadway shows that need musicians. We shared things Interlochen, University of Michigan, and some common friends. John was very kind about answering questions I had about actors or players and what they were currently doing.

He is an amazing player and a real gentleman. He knows a lot of people!

John Moses is a Great player and great person.

A person in the business you would call "one of the good guys."

He’s still with us. He kindly sent me a text message on my birthday recently.

Ed,

When I clicked on the link that you provided and read John's words under his portrait, I realized that what was written there was a shortened version of what is written at the bottom of his bio under the words: Some thoughts on performing:

Kinda weird ... On the 26th (my birthday) John called me out of the blue in the morning to congratulate me. Of course I'm still a kid to John, who has blessed us all with his presence. He and I had a nice conversation - I haven't seen him in maybe a decade, but it was so nice to catch up.

Agreed! John is a kind and amazing person! His prominence as a performer does not trump his kind authentic reach to people who seek his insights.

Every encounter that I have had with him online has been fun, friendly, and inspiring! I almost could not believe he was "real" the first couple of times I picked his mind about Legere reeds and pit orchestras. He gave me SO much valuable info.

Truly would love to meet him sometime! Sean Perrin, I hope you DO have him as a Guest! We would all love to see that!
