 Scherzo Dvorak Symphony 9 New World

Measure 14 entrance after flute . I am always
a fraction late and wanting to achieve that “pinging” light style each time ..
Any suggestions how to make this sound effortless?? Thanks!

Do you mean in the Scherzo (3rd) movement? Oh, DUH! - I skipped right over "Scherzo" in the topic.

Maybe someone can offer some special advice, but if you keep the tonguing light and don't come in too loud, it should be fine. My advice is not to overthink it. If you're coming in late, don't let your tongue tense up or squeeze the reed for the first note and get the quarter notes started in your mind before you begin to play - even before the flute plays.
