 wood clarinet question

My Selmer Signet Special clarinet is wood and when I keep my clarinet at school the wood on it turn a light brown. Why is this?? My band teacher told me to oil it so I did and a week later it turned light brown agin... I oil every month. If you don't know know what I am talking about go to http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1412009363 and look at that clarinets bell, thats what my clarinet does buy only does it on the upper section...
