Today I recieved my Brilhart tonolin 3 Mouthpeice, Put that baby on my Evette and wowee, wow, wow! The sound I acheived was amazing. Does anyone else out there like brilhart mps? And all you people still using the mp that came with your clarinet(as I did) (blush) run to the nearest music store and get a different mp.I am so happy I am walking on air!!!!!

Congratulations! It's a wonderful experience when you find a mouthpiece that works FOR you and enables your playing.

Have fun!

I had this experience with a Morgan RM-10 back in 1996. It was my second mouthpiece ever.

I have a lowly Ebolin with a 5 facing. It plays even better than some of my other mouthpieces that cost 3x the price.

David, I have a feeling you sound great!! Wish I had a dozen favorite mouthpeices. I seem more obsessed with aquiring more clarinets. Ha ha

One of a handful of people on this BB that I respect most! It's true, of course, that in the end one (fine, rare, top-quality) mouthpiece sounds just like the next. The way I've tried to handle it is to separate my "collecting" from any artistic growth as a clarinetist. The two are separate.

Luckily for us, clarinets and mouthpieces are (compared to other instruments) cheap.

I have to agree with you, I chose the brilhart because It was more in my price range than a vandoren. I am very happy with it ! But, I donot have the knowlege some of you BBers . Using the brilhart expanded and filled out my altissimo notes like never before. Well expcept for my first clarinet. A plastic 1970 Evette. I played it all through school. And was either first or second chair throughout. I practiced so much I made my brothers moan in agony, haha. Man I miss that silly plastic clarinet!!!!!
