Help! Worried about Steam Heat Drying Out my Horn
Author: DanStein

I hope you guys can give me some good advice:

This is my first winter in the city, and I am very worried about what my steam heat is doing to my horn. All the rings around the joints are loose, I would imagine, because the wood is drying out. I use a dampit, but that seems to not be getting the job done. Any advice? I don't want to hurt my horn...

Thanks

Keep using the dampits.....try to keep what moisture there is in the clarinet. Store instrument in a plastic bag.

Playing it daily should help too.
