I remember Larry Combs coming to Paris to the Leblanc factory to test new models. The technicians complained that he wasn't the ideal tester because any instrument he would pick up, he would make sound like the world's finest clarinet!

Thanks for sharing this. I only got to see him play a few times during his tenure in Chicago but it was always very memorable and I remain a fan.
